I vow...

I vow to be nicer to myself. For Karter. She deserves it. She deserves to be given the best shot possible to feel good about her body.

I read this today.

I decided that I won't talk down about myself. I won't call myself fat. I won't scrutinize everything I hate about my body. I will be nicer to myself.

At least I won't do it in front of Karter.

But I am still not having another baby. I never want to feel that horrible about how I looked ever again in my life. BUT I will keep my thoughts to myself and not let my little KiKimonster hear my insecurities about my body.

And I definitely won't tell her that she is the reason I have stretchmarks and my belly is the nastiest thing on the planet. (Shit, I failed. That's the last time.)

7 Months

What the hell? Where does the time go? Wasn't I just bringing her home from the hospital? I just don't get it.
Miss KiKimonster is 7 months old, well 7 months, 3 days but I am just getting around to posting pics. So since I have kept you waiting.
Here is Miss K at 7 months....along with some funny outtakes.

Check out that smirk. Ha.

Um, I don't even know what to say about this one. She just looks confused.

This is what he had to do to make her smile.

And FINALLY we got this one. She is hilarious. And so cute.

Oh and I am the worst mom ever. I totally bet on my child's development. My mom is convinced that K will be crawling in one month. And I am not so convinced. So we made a bet, if Karter crawls by Nov 16. then I owe my mom a fabulous bottle of red wine. A bottle of wine is on the line and I really don't think that I am going to lose. Miss K will be barely 8 months old. And if she does I will have to give up a bottle (of my quickly dwindling stash) of the fabulous Mary Edwards Klopp Ranch Pinot.

That, my friends, is blasphemy.

Dying Onsies

I don't know if I have mentioned in the past about my hatred of clothes with writing on them? Well, if I haven't: I hate clothes with writing. I am just not a fan. I don't need K's shirt to say, "Cutest Baby Ever."
First, stupid saying.
Second, everyone thinks their baby is the cutest ever.
Third, I hate it. I just hate it.
And I am just not sure why it has to be so difficult to find baby clothes without stupid sayings or hearts or something else ridiculous. Plain colorful onsies don't exist. White onsies, however, are abundant. So I used that to my advantage. I bought some fabric dye from Joanns and went at it!
First, mix the dye with water and salt. The fabrics needed to be stirred for 15 minutes. I cheated and switched between them all for stirring, since I was doing 4 different colors. The color didn't turn out splotchy as the directions implied.

Then, they sit for 30 minutes? Or something. Read the directions. Ha.

We did blue, brown, pink, and green.

Then, you must rinse them out. Wear gloves for this part and make sure that you are wearing clothes that are OK to be stained. The dye is splashy and gets everywhere.

Once they are rinsed, wash in the washing machine.
Here they are all lined up for washing.

Side note, there is something about this picture that I love. I almost want to frame it and put it in my house. For real. I don't know why.

Once washed, hang them to dry. *Please don't mind my thrashed garage. There are three houses of stuff in here. We have to go through it still. Ugh.

Here she is modeling the blue onsie!!

With one package of dye, I got three onsies at a time colored. If my bowls had been bigger I could have probably dyed two more. I did attempt to dye another onsie in each color after the first three were taken out of the dye. The dye worked but the colors were lighter. I am actually OK with this and I am happy that the leftover dye didn't go to waste.

So now I am happy! She has colored onsies, that don't have a ridiculous saying on them.

First Pumpkin Patch Experience!

Over the weekend we went to the Pumpkin Patch with Miss Karter. She was super interested in the pumpkins and bored with the animals. Ha!

And a pic with dad then mom for good measure.

Big Days!

Karter's first tooth broke through on Thursday and then the second broke through on Friday. Can't wait for them to show all the way. Too cute!

Today we were out running errands.
She sat in a high chair when we went out to lunch all by herself! She was even reading the menu, or I guess she really wasn't. But it sure looks cute in the pics.

And then when we went to Target she sat in the cart all by herself. She is getting to be such a big girl!
